GiveSolar Partnership
This partnership equips Habitat affiliates with the tools necessary to implement solar systems on Habitat for Humanity homes. GiveSolar is also advising affiliates on a variety of options for financing installation of future solar systems. GiveSolar provides participating Habitat affiliates with a “Solar Access Toolbox," providing resources for sustainable solar programs. We envision a future where Habitat homeowners aren't cost-burdened by ever-rising energy costs, and where Habitat families are a part of the solution to the climate crisis.

ReStores
ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores that directly support local Habitat for Humanity efforts. All ReStores are open to the public, so anyone can shop from our inventory of used and (sometimes!) new goods, at a fraction of the retail price. ReStores accept donated material from building contractors, manufacturers, and the general public, keeping tons of waste out of the landfills every month. There are more than 20 ReStore locations across Virginia, all of which support their local Habitat affiliate.
AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) and Direct Service provides an opportunity for individuals to serve full-time with Habitat for Humanity to help affiliates meet the housing needs of families all over the state. AmeriCorps members may fulfill a variety of roles including resource development, capacity building, onsite construction, or volunteer management.
If you are interested in dedicating a year or two of your life to service, you can find full listing of all the current AmeriCorps openings in Virginia and apply here.
Down Payment Assistance
Habitat for Humanity Virginia is a statewide administrator of Down Payment Assistance funds through the Va. Dept. of Housing and Community Development. If you are purchasing a home and your income does not exceed 60% of AMI, we may be able to help even if you are not purchasing a home from Habitat for Humanity. For more information on eligibility and other information about this program, please visit Va. DHCD's website.
